This is a lovely poem that Swift's daughter Becky read at his funeral A LITTLE RHYME ABOUT MY LOVELY DAD To me, he was and always will be my dad, To others, he was Swift or Nick But regardless of your relationship with him, Whether you were family or just a friend, I just think myself lucky to have had that lovely Man as my dad Though its such a shame that it went so quick, But my love for him will never end When I think of my dad, I see his eyes So full of love and expression, so big and blue, You could see the truth in those eyes, never any lies My dad was genuine and true. When I think of my dad, I think of holidays, A beautiful man in that beautiful place, St Ives, I’ve always had happy days, As I’m sure that many of you have had, with him too in your lives. When I think of my dad, I think of his creations, He was so creative and artistic, Always full of inspirations, Whether it be art, writing, doodles or music. When I think of my dad, I think of how he was so clever, My dad was so intelligent, he knew everything, There wasn’t a time he didn’t know an answer, Not ever, He always let you know what had happened, Or what was happening. When I think of my dad, I think of his music, From Jamiroquai, to Bowie to Marley, And more, his taste was varied and fantastic, He was forever singing along to some melody! When I think of my dad, I think of his humour and wit, He said it like it was, sarcastic and dry, Funny though, wasn’t it? His intelligent humour helped us all get by. When I think of my dad, I think of love and care, I love my dad so much and in so many different ways, And its nice to know that he loved me too, he was always there, Its just a real shame that all I have is memories, He is still here in some way and I look forward to seeing him again some day.
